The Day of Russia is celebrated on 12th June,
therefore the Russian school RUBRIC in Derby organised a special Russian Day for the pupils
on Saturday, 16th June. On that day the school had lessons dedicated
to Russia Day, during which the teachers
were telling their pupils interesting facts about Russian geography, history
and culture. For this day RUBRIC classes were decorated with the Russian flag
and pupil̢۪s art work picturing the
Kremlin, Russian Dolls and other Russian symbols. There also was a colourful
display of the traditional Russian artefacts for the children. The most
memorable moment of the day was at the end of the celebration, because teachers
and parents got dressed up in the Russian plats and headdresses. That brought a
very special atmosphere and much fun to both adults and children and
everyone was happy to pose for the photographs.
The Russian Embassy has supplied RUBRIC school with three-coloured
ribbons, symbolising the Russian flag.
These ribbons, taken by everyone home, reminded children of their heritage and
also about the close relationship between Russia and Britain, because both
countries, as the teachers explained, have the same three national colours:
white, red and blue. Photos Video
